Bible Study Classes – Special Needs Ministry

We have several classes designed for children whose needs are best met in a small group setting or who need more attention. We have a wonderful group of volunteers who serve faithfully to ensure each child feels safe and loved. Below is a list of the classes we currently offer. If you feel one of these classes may meet the specific needs of your child, please contact  Emily Bonny, 469-698-2310.

SOAR Class

Saturday – 6:00 pm & 7:15 pm
Sunday – 9:30 am & 11 am

This class meets the needs of students who require more specialized care due to developmental delay and/or physical disabilities.  We use play to encourage social interaction and teach God’s Word. A picture system is available for students who are non-verbal. The Bible story is shared each week using engaging and interactive videos. There is a weekly craft, game and/or activity to reinforce the lesson. Students in this class have the opportunity to utilize our Motor Lab.

Move and Learn Class

Saturday – 6:00 pm & 7:15 pm
Sunday – 9:30 am & 11 am

This class meets the needs of Kind – 5th grade students who need a small classroom setting. Lessons taught in this classroom are the same lessons taught in our other grade school classrooms.  This is a great class for a students who have a short attention span, need extra time to transition, or perhaps need to work on social interaction.  The Bible story is taught through live creative storytelling and/or engaging video.  Small group activities focus on application, scripture memory, prayer and Bible story review that all reinforce the lesson.  Students in this class have the opportunity to utilize the computer lab.

Adult Class

Sunday – 9:30 am (Service)
Sunday – 11 am (Life Group)

This class is for older teens and young adults of all ages who have special needs. They meet in their class at 9:15 to go to worship in the auditorium as a group.  During the second hour, they meet in their classroom for Bible study. This is a great group of people who LOVE their class and love learning about God.
